CURRICULUM VITAE
LAURENCE D. KAYE, M. D.
Dr. Laurence Kaye is currently
in solo practice, specializing in glaucoma and refractive
cataract surgery. He arrived in Tucson in November 1996,
prior to which he completed a glaucoma fellowship at the
Mount Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and a
glaucoma preceptorship at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston.
His Ophthalmology residency was
done at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio,
and was followed by a Directorship of Ophthalmology at the
Veterans Administration Medical Center in Big Springs,
Texas. During this time, he was board certified in the top
5% of ophthalmic graduates in the United States.
Prior to his Ophthalmology
residency, Dr. Kaye completed a Pediatric Residency at Case
Western Reserve University and attended Medical School at
the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South
Africa. Dr. Kaye is
currently an examiner for the American Board of
Ophthalmology and a member of the American Academy of
Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and
Refractive Surgeons. Dr. Kaye was recently awarded the title
of one of “The Best Doctors in America” by his peers in 2008
and 2009. He has
an interest in third world cataract surgery and has been
involved in trips to Peru and Mexico to perform cataract
surgery.
Dr. Kaye is married and has
three children and enjoys an active outdoor life. He
is committed to his private practice, where he provides
state of the art care in a personalized, professional
